Established in 1935, today Montecristo is the world’s most popular Havana cigar house and forms the benchmark for many Havana smokers against which other brands are judged.

The Open Series was introduced in 2009. Consisting of four sizes and blended to a lighter, medium-bodied, flavour it was originally aimed at a new generation of smokers who enjoy outdoor pursuits. 

The Slam is the first addition to the Series since its launch and is an entirely new size within the Habanos portfolio. Known as an Idilicos in the factories of Cuba it measures 5 5/8” x 52 ring gauge and is presented in dressed boxes of 20 cigars.

All of these cigars have been made ‘Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga’ - totally by hand using long filler - and are rolled with selected leaves grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone, a region of Pinar del Rio in Cuba that is known for producing the best tobacco in the world.
