This is probably the most famous torpedo besides Montecristo No.2. and often the two are compared.
Most books opined that the Upmann No. 2 is stronger than the Montecristo No. 2 but most people find that the Upmann No.2 is milder.
Actually both impressions may be correct. The strength of H. Upmann cigars increase with age. This is due to that H. Upmann cigars have more chained tannins in the young tobacco, which does not burn. The strength becomes equal to a Montecristo No.2 in about 6 years.
When decenly aged like this one 9 years old, sports a 'clean tobacco taste' with very subtle herbal flavours as background.
